Sony's new FE 8-14mm f/3.5 Fisheye G Lens brings a full 180° field of view to full-frame E-mount, zooming from a circular fisheye at 8mm to a diagonal fisheye at 14mm.
Sony has announced the FE 8-14mm f/3.5 Fisheye G Lens, its first fisheye zoom for E-mount. It's a genuine zoom fisheye, not a fixed one, so the look changes as you move through the range: at 8mm on a full-frame body you get a circular image with the full 180° view visible as a distinct circle in the frame, and zoom to 14mm and it fills the frame edge to edge as a diagonal fisheye instead. A constant f/3.5 aperture, autofocus, and a compact 314g build make it a genuine option for stills, video, and VR work, not just a novelty lens for the odd wide shot.

One lens, two fisheye looks
At 8mm you get a full circular fisheye, the entire 180° view squeezed into a circle with black corners around it; zoom to 14mm and that same 180° view stretches out to fill the whole frame as a diagonal fisheye instead. An internal zoom design keeps the lens balanced as the focal length changes, and the constant f/3.5 aperture holds exposure steady the whole way through, so you can switch looks without juggling exposure at the same time.

A 16-element, 13-group optical design, including aspherical and ED elements, keeps chromatic and spherical aberrations in check across the zoom range. Two linear motors drive fast, accurate autofocus with minimal focus breathing, and a 7-blade circular aperture gives smooth, natural-looking highlights.

Independent focus, zoom, and aperture rings give direct manual control, and dedicated AF/MF/FH, zoom lock, and aperture click switches speed up changes without digging into menus. Dust- and moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine-coated front element handle the conditions fisheye shooters actually work in, and at just 314g it stays easy to carry all day.
