Overview
The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G (with Power Supply) is a pocket sized converter that lets you combine SDI and HDMI equipment in the same production setup. Unlike a one way converter, it works in both directions at once, converting SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI simultaneously, even when the two sides are running different video standards. Housed in a rugged metal shell, it is built to bridge consumer HDMI gear with professional 3G-SDI equipment and supports resolutions up to DCI 2K over SDI and 1080p60 over HDMI.
Simultaneous Two Way Conversion
The converter can convert HDMI to 3G-SDI and 3G-SDI to HDMI at the same time, making it easy to connect HDMI consumer components to professional 3G-SDI equipment without swapping cables or units depending on signal direction.
BMPCC Camera Control Conversion
Camera control conversion is included for the HDMI output Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K or 6K, allowing these cameras to be controlled through an SDI based live switcher alongside other broadcast cameras.
SDI Re-Clocking & Timecode Support
- Built in re-clocking on the 3G-SDI output enables stable signal over longer cable runs.
- Compatible with SMPTE 259M/292M/296M/424M/425M Level A and B.
- HD and SD timecode support, converting HDMI timecode to SDI and vice versa.
Wide Resolution & Embedded Audio Support
SDI support ranges from NTSC and PAL up to DCI 2Kp60, while HDMI support ranges from NTSC and PAL up to 1080p60. Embedded audio is carried across both the SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, so audio in the source signal is preserved through the conversion.
Compact, Rugged Metal Housing
A sturdy metal housing with rugged connector interfaces and LED indicators for video and power signals makes this converter well suited to daily use in the field or on set, while remaining small enough to tuck alongside a monitor or camera rig.
Versatile USB-C Power Options
- USB-C port allows powering from a monitor, laptop, or desktop computer.
- Includes a 100 to 240 VAC power supply with four international socket adapters.
- USB-C port also supports firmware updates from a Mac or PC.
