Godox can be overwhelming: hundreds of models, a maze of letters and numbers, and ranges that overlap. The good news is there's a logic to it, and once you understand the system, especially how one wireless trigger controls everything, choosing gets simple. This guide breaks the range into five parts. How Godox works: one system, one trigger

This is the single most important thing to understand. Almost every modern Godox light, speedlights, battery strobes, even many LEDs, speaks the same 2.4GHz wireless language. That means one trigger on your camera can adjust power, fire, and control every Godox light in the room, across different types, from your hand. You're not buying a product; you're buying into an ecosystem. Pick your trigger for your camera brand, and everything else just works with it.

Decode the Names

Godox naming looks random but mostly isn't. Here's what the letters mean: the key to navigating the whole range.

Battery strobes (Witstro). The number is roughly the power: AD100, AD200, AD300, AD600. Bigger number, more power.

On-camera flashes. V = premium (V1 round head, V860 Ving). TT = value hammerhead (TT685, TT350).

Continuous LED. SL = studio (mains, Bowens mount). ML = mobile/on-the-go. Number ≈ wattage.

Bi / D / R

Colour suffix. Bi = bi-colour (adjustable warm↔cool). D = Daylight only. R = RGB (full colour, plus usually the widest warm-to-cool range too).

Pro / II

Tier & generation. "Pro" is the upgraded feature set; "II" is the newer version. Prefer II where you can.
