Overview
The Panasonic AK-HCU250ESJ is a camera control unit (CCU) built for professional studio and broadcast camera systems, designed to pair with the Panasonic AK-HC3900 studio camera. It uses a LEMO optical fiber multi-connector to support long-distance transmission between the camera head and the CCU while maintaining high image quality. Housed in a compact, lightweight 2U rack-mountable chassis, it fits straight into existing broadcast racks without taking up excessive space.
Upgradeable to 4K Output
The AK-HCU250ESJ ships with support for Full HD 1920 x 1080 recording at 59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 25p and 23.98p. Adding the optional AK-HUC01 4K upgrade unlocks 12G-SDI and 3G-SDI Quad Link output plus 3840 x 2160 recording at the same frame rates, extending the system to true 4K production without replacing the CCU.
Broadcast-Grade Connectivity
The CCU provides extensive I/O for studio integration, including multiple HD-SDI outputs, dedicated prompter and trunk circuits, XLR audio and intercom connections, and a LAN port alongside the optical fiber connection to the AK-HC3900 camera head.

3G Trunk and Prompter Circuit
A dedicated 3G trunk and 3G prompter circuit run between the camera and CCU, keeping talkback and prompter signal separate from the main video path for cleaner, more reliable studio communication.
Intercom and Dual Audio Lines
One intercom line and two audio lines are built in, giving camera operators and control room staff a dedicated communication path alongside the main audio feed.
Universal Power Input
A 100 to 240V AC power supply covers global broadcast facilities, while the CCU also delivers DC power directly to the connected camera head, keeping cabling simple in permanent studio installs.
