YC Onion Hot Dog Bun Motorised Slider (80 cm)

Overview

The YC Onion Hot Dog Bun Motorised Slider (80 cm) includes a motor that attaches to the slider carriage for smooth, consistent motion. With the free companion app you can set A and B start and end travel points for video and time-lapse, and you can also set speed and back-and-forth looping. You can remove the motor and belt at any time and use the slider fully by hand.

The motor pairs with selected DJI and Zhiyun gimbals so slider and gimbal motion can be set together from the same app for four-axis control. It suits time-lapse and video shooters who want repeatable, programmable moves from a slider that packs down for travel.

Motor Controls

For time-lapse the app controls the frame rate, photo count, interval, exposure and damping, among other settings. The motor also has a power button, a stepless control knob, A and B buttons and a 1.3" LCD that shows the status of key settings, so basic A to B moves need no app. The assigned travel points are stored in the motor's memory for next time and are replaced when you change them. The app is free from the App Store or Google Play and works with iOS 11.0 or later.

Gimbal Pairing

Zhiyun gimbals connect directly with no extra module, while the DJI Ronin-S and RS 2 need the optional YC Onion Interlink module, with a separate version for each, which sandwiches between the gimbal and the slider. Motion settings for the slider and the gimbal are assigned together from the same app, giving four-axis control. The compatible models are listed below.

• Motor load ratings are up to 20 kg horizontally, 14 kg when inclined at 45° and 6.4 kg when vertical

• Quick release clips hold the belt, and an Allen key stored in a slot on the slider tightens it
