Overview
The Viltrox DC-X3 6" Touchscreen On-Camera Monitor with Cage pairs a bright HDMI and SDI monitor with a rugged metal cage, ready for camera rigs and broadcast setups. Its compact 6" 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen reaches 2000 nits, bright enough for outdoor shooting, and covers the full Rec.709 and sRGB colour range for an accurate preview.
HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs accept up to DCI or UHD 4K30 over HDMI and HD over SDI, and matching HDMI and SDI loop outputs pass the picture on to another monitor or recorder. A 3.5 mm headphone jack lets you monitor the audio embedded in either signal, and the cage adds anti-twist threads and strap slots for mounting.
Monitoring Tools
The tools you need to judge exposure, framing and colour are built in:
- Waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and histogram
- False colour and zebra for exposure
- Custom aspect ratios and anamorphic de-squeeze
- Image flip and rotate, overscan and underscan
- Custom 3D LUTs, loaded over USB
Protective Metal Cage
The outer metal cage protects the monitor from knocks and adds mounting points all round, including 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 anti-twist threads and strap slots, so you can mount it wherever it suits your rig. Two captive screws hold it to the monitor, so it never comes loose, and the screen and ports stay clear to use.
NP-F or USB-C Power
Power it from an NP-F battery on the built-in plate for cable-free shooting, or from a DC barrel or USB-C supply when you're working all day. The USB port also handles firmware updates, and a sun hood, shoe mount adapter and HDMI cable come in the box, so it's ready to use straight away.
