Canon Speedlite EL-1 (Version 2)

Overview

The Canon Speedlite EL-1 (Version 2) is an on-camera E-TTL / E-TTL II-compatible flash built for photographers who need power, connectivity, and reliability from a single unit. A xenon flashtube delivers a guide number of 58m at ISO 100 with full exposure control from 1/1 power right down to 1/8192, giving precise control over lighting intensity for portraits, events, and studio-style setups. The rechargeable LP-EL lithium-ion battery pack keeps recycle times to around 0.9 seconds and supports approximately 340 flashes per charge, while also contributing to the flash's active cooling system for reliable performance during long sessions.

Built-In Radio Wireless Control

A built-in radio trigger and receiver fully supports Canon's EL-series RT flashes, letting you trigger up to 15 RT-series receiver Speedlites off-camera to light a scene freely. Second-Curtain Sync adds further creative flexibility when working with moving subjects.

Weather-Sealed, Rugged Build

The EL-1 shares the same level of dust and water resistance as Canon's EOS-1D-series camera bodies, so it can be relied on in demanding shooting conditions alongside professional camera bodies.

Updated Control Interface

An updated joystick, display, and control layout make it faster to adjust settings, and a tunable LED modeling lamp helps previsualize lighting before you shoot.

180° Swivel Flash Head

The flash head fully swivels 180° left and right and includes a built-in wide panel, giving you flexibility to bounce and angle light exactly where it's needed.
