The Ricoh GR IV is the latest evolution of the iconic compact street camera, combining a new 25.7MP APS-C BSI CMOS sensor with the advanced GR ENGINE 7 processor for faster performance, cleaner low-light images, and quicker startup. Its redesigned 28mm f/2.8-equivalent lens delivers sharper results while remaining slim and portable, complemented by improved autofocus, 5-axis image stabilization, and creative modes like Full Press Snap and Snap Distance-Priority AE. With a brighter 3.0" touchscreen, larger battery, expanded internal memory, and seamless wireless control via the new GR WORLD app, the GR IV is a powerful yet pocketable tool for street, travel, and everyday photography.

Long celebrated as the go-to compact for street and travel shooters, the Ricoh GR IV raises the bar once again. This latest generation combines exceptional portability with a new 25.7MP BSI CMOS sensor, reengineered 28mm-equivalent lens, upgraded autofocus and 5-axis Shake Reduction, expanded internal memory, and a redesigned body that’s slimmer and easier to handle. It also introduces the dedicated GR WORLD app, offering seamless wireless control and image sharing.

At its core, the GR IV features a back-illuminated 25.7MP APS-C sensor paired with the advanced GR ENGINE 7 processor. Together, they deliver cleaner files with reduced noise, stronger low-light performance, faster startup times, and improved responsiveness. ISO extends up to 204800, while 14-bit DNG and JPEG formats are supported for flexible workflows.

Faster, Smarter Autofocus

With its new processor and lighter lens design, the GR IV offers noticeably faster autofocus, reduced focus hunting, and more reliable tracking. Face and eye detection have been refined for accuracy, even in challenging light. For quick, decisive shooting, the Full Press Snap function remains a highlight—allowing instant prefocus at a set distance with a full shutter press, now also accessible via the rear touchscreen.

5-Axis Shake Reduction

Building on the previous 3-axis system, the GR IV now employs 5-axis image stabilization, compensating for up to 6 stops of camera shake. This ensures sharper handheld results across a wider range of shooting situations, especially in dimly lit environments.

Image Control and Creative Modes

The Image Control function now offers 12 distinct styles, including a new Cinema mode with nostalgic Yellow and Green tones. Each look can be fine-tuned with adjustments for saturation, hue, contrast, grain, and more—giving you complete creative freedom. Custom presets can also be saved for quick recall.

• Program Auto Ex: Instantly toggle between Program, Aperture Priority, or Shutter Priority using the dials.

• Snap Distance-Priority AE: A new mode designed to prioritize depth of field for street-style shooting.

• AA Filter Simulator: For reducing moiré in select scenes using the Shake Reduction mechanism.

• Multi-Exposure Mode: Unlimited frame compositing in-camera.

• Metering Choices: Multi-Segment, Center-Weighted, Spot, and Highlight-Weighted.

• Video: Capture Full HD 1080 at 60p, 30p, or 24p.

Redesigned 28mm f/2.8-Equivalent Lens

The iconic 28mm-equivalent lens has been completely redesigned for greater sharpness and clarity while remaining compact. The optical formula (7 elements in 5 groups) includes aspherical, HR, and low-dispersion glass. Additional features include a built-in ND filter, close-focusing Macro mode (2.4"–4.7"), and crop modes simulating 35mm and 50mm perspectives.

Slimmer Body, Smarter Handling

Constructed from lightweight magnesium alloy, the GR IV is slimmer than its predecessor yet retains a comfortable grip. A new DB-120 battery powers up to 250 shots per charge, supported by larger 53GB built-in memory and microSD storage. The USB-C port enables convenient charging and file transfer. Controls have been redesigned for intuitive operation, and the 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD now features anti-reflective design with adaptive brightness for outdoor visibility.

Connectivity and GR WORLD App

With built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the GR IV connects effortlessly to smart devices. The all-new GR WORLD app provides wireless control, file transfer, and geotagging for a streamlined shooting experience.
