Overview
The Panasonic Lumix GH5 II Mirrorless Camera (Body Only) is a compact yet highly capable hybrid system designed for creators who need professional-quality video and stills performance. Its 20.3MP Live MOS sensor with AR coating delivers improved dynamic range, reduced flare, and refined color reproduction, while offering internal 10-bit 4:2:0 recording up to DCI and UHD 4K60p. Unlimited recording, preinstalled V-Log L, and full-sensor 4K capture make it a powerful tool for cinematic workflows and multi-camera productions.
The camera’s advanced autofocus system uses deep learning to recognize human and animal subjects with improved tracking performance, while the enhanced 5-axis image stabilization system works with O.I.S. lenses to achieve Dual I.S. 2 stabilization up to 6.5 stops. A high-resolution OLED viewfinder, articulating 3" touchscreen, dual UHS-II card slots, livestreaming options, and dependable magnesium-alloy construction round out a robust platform built for demanding environments.
Imaging Performance
20.3MP Live MOS Sensor
Featuring a 20.3MP sensor with AR coating and an evolved Venus Engine, the GH5 II suppresses ghosting, improves dynamic range by 25%, and enhances color gradation. Sharpness is maximized using Multipixel Luminance Generation, and detailed rendering is maintained even at ISO 25,600.
High-Speed Shooting
The camera supports up to 12 fps shooting with AF-S or manual focus, enabling reliable performance for sports, events, and fast motion.
Video Capabilities
The GH5 II provides unlimited internal recording in DCI and UHD 4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit, with simultaneous 4:2:2 10-bit output over HDMI. It also supports high-bit-rate recording for artifact-free imagery, as well as multiple gamma profiles including Cinelike D2 and Cinelike V2 for in-camera tonal control.

Autofocus System
The 225-area Depth-from-Defocus AF system uses deep learning to detect faces, eyes, heads, bodies, and animals. Tracking remains effective even when subjects turn, move quickly, or shift position within the frame.
Stabilization
The updated Dual I.S. 2 system combines 5-axis in-body stabilization with compatible O.I.S. lenses to deliver up to 6.5 stops of shake reduction for smooth handheld shooting.
Livestreaming & Connectivity
The GH5 II supports wireless livestreaming via the Lumix Sync app using a smartphone, as well as router-based streaming using Lumix Network Setting Software. A future firmware update will add wired USB-LAN IP streaming.
Body & Design
The magnesium-alloy chassis features extensive weather sealing for use in splash-proof, dust-proof, and freeze-proof environments down to –10°C. The camera includes a 3.68m-dot OLED EVF, a free-angle 3" touchscreen, and dual UHS-II SD card slots supporting Relay, Backup, and Allocation recording modes.
6K & 4K Photo Modes
Capture 18MP stills at 30 fps in 6K PHOTO mode or 8MP stills at 30/60 fps in 4K PHOTO mode. A pre-burst function records one second before and after the shutter press, providing up to 60 frames for fast-paced action.
