Overview

The DJI RS 5 Gimbal Stabilizer is a powerful yet lightweight professional camera stabilizer designed for commercial shooters who need smooth, precise footage. It includes a dedicated Z-axis (vertical) indicator, Teflon-enhanced balancing, and fine-tuning knobs for accurate setup and reliable performance on set.

With fast charging, extended runtime, a fixed OLED touchscreen with auto-lock, and compatibility with DJI Focus Pro motors and DJI SDR Transmission, the RS 5 is built to support workflows ranging from solo run-and-gun productions to fully monitored remote shooting environments.

Vertical Shooting & Quick Release Design

The RS 5 features a third-generation native vertical capture system for fast portrait orientation. Dual-layer quick release plates simplify camera mounting and balancing. The horizontal plate has been redesigned for quicker vertical transitions, and fine-tuning tilt knobs plus placement guides ensure accurate and secure positioning of your camera.

Display & Controls

The fixed OLED touchscreen displays gimbal status and joystick movements. Auto-lock prevents accidental changes while conserving battery. The gimbal mode switch allows toggling between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow, and FPV modes, with customizable FPV options including 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom settings.

Automated Axis Locks & Handling

• Press and hold power to unlock and expand axes automatically in 2 seconds
• Single press locks axes and enters sleep mode for efficient storage or transport
• Smaller gaps reduce shake when locked

Focus, Monitoring & Transmission

Pair the RS 5 with up to two DJI Focus Pro motors for professional focus and zoom control using the gimbal’s dial and joystick. DJI SDR Transmission enables live video monitoring, remote gimbal and camera control, and flexible crew workflows. The Ronin Image Transmitter allows a smartphone to function as a motion controller for dynamic remote operation.

Wireless Control & App Integration

Dual-mode Bluetooth enables wireless shutter control for compatible cameras, including select FUJIFILM and Panasonic models. Cameras automatically reconnect after initial pairing. The Ronin app allows integrated monitoring, remote exposure adjustments, and virtual joystick operation for precise control.

Intelligent Shooting Modes

Advanced features include motion-lapse, tracking, and panorama modes. A customisable trigger button allows instant access to FPV mode, causing all three axes to follow the grip’s movement, enabling immersive and dynamic camera motion with minimal setup.
