Overview
The Nikon Z50 II Mirrorless Camera two-lens kit pairs the compact, creator-ready Z50 II body with the NIKKOR Z DX 16–50mm f/3.5–6.3 VR and the NIKKOR Z DX 50–250mm f/4.5–6.3 VR, covering an effective 24–375 mm equivalent range for everyday to telephoto subjects. This kit delivers stabilized versatility for stills and video—quiet AF for content creation, wide-to-tele reach for travel and portraits, and full compatibility with the entire NIKKOR Z lineup—so rising creators can elevate content beyond the smartphone.
Imaging & Processor
20.9MP DX Sensor with EXPEED 7
The 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor teams with the EXPEED 7 engine (as used in Nikon’s flagship full-frame models) to deliver nuanced image quality, smooth color transitions, and reduced noise. Native ISO 100–51200 expands to ISO 204800 for extreme low light, and the camera supports full-resolution continuous shooting up to 30 fps.
Autofocus & Capture
Subject Recognition & Eye Detection
Inherited algorithms and deep learning from the Z9 enable Subject Detection for nine subject types (including humans, animals, airplanes, and bicycles) with a dedicated Bird Detection mode. In Auto-Area AF, subjects are automatically detected, focused, and tracked. Eye-Detection AF is refined for higher accuracy and works with custom Wide-Area AF patterns to suit different subject shapes and sizes.
Pre-Release Capture
Pre-Release Capture records frames for up to one second before the shutter is fully pressed. With the shutter half-pressed, the camera begins buffering; on full press, preceding frames are retained to help nail decisive moments.
Video Capabilities
UHD 4K & High-Speed FHD
Records UHD 4K up to 60 fps and Full HD up to 120 fps, with Product Review mode, video self-timer, built-in electronic Vibration Reduction, and recording time limits up to two hours. Save movies to in-camera cards or to an external recorder via HDMI, and create in-camera time-lapse movies directly in UHD 4K.
Creator-Friendly Formats
UAC and UAV compliant for live web-streaming. Supports internal 10-bit recording with Nikon’s N-Log LUT and four new RED LUTs.
Color Tools for Creators
Picture Controls & Cloud Integration
A top-plate Picture Control button gives instant access to 31 built-in presets—even in Auto mode—with overlays on the rear LCD so you can visualize color shifts as you shoot. Creator Recipes from Nikon Imaging Cloud can be downloaded and added alongside presets. Includes a one-year subscription to Cloud Picture Controls software for using your own presets with professional tools.
Body Design & Connectivity
Handling & Displays
The bright 8.1 cm LCD touchscreen flips 180° for front-facing selfies and adds Touch FN for fingertip AF-point selection. The redesigned electronic viewfinder, built with NIKKOR optics, is twice as bright as its predecessor for comfortable eye-level viewing. A built-in flash and hot shoe pair with Night Portrait mode for balanced low-light results.
