20.9MP DX-Format CMOS Sensor & EXPEED 7
The 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor pairs with the EXPEED 7 processor for high sensitivity, fast autofocus, and full-resolution continuous shooting up to 30 fps. ISO range is 100–51200 (expandable to 204800), delivering smooth color transitions and reduced noise.
Autofocus and Subject Detection
With deep learning technology from the Z9, the Z50 II includes Subject Detection for 9 subject types including humans, animals, and vehicles. Enhanced Eye-Detection AF and Wide-Area AF provide refined accuracy across different shooting scenarios.
High-Speed Shooting
Pre-Release Capture
Pre-Release Capture begins recording frames up to one second before the shutter is fully pressed, helping capture key moments with precision using the EXPEED 7 processor.
Video Capabilities
The Z50 II supports UHD 4K up to 60 fps and Full HD up to 120 fps. Features include Product Review mode, electronic VR, 10-bit internal recording with N-Log, time-lapse, and support for external recording via HDMI. UAC/UAV compliance supports live streaming.
Creative Color Control
A dedicated Picture Control button provides access to 31 presets, visual previews, and downloadable Creator Recipes from the Nikon Imaging Cloud. Includes 1-year subscription to Cloud Picture Controls software.
Body Design and Display
Includes a 3.2" tilting touchscreen with Touch FN and a 180° flip design for selfies. The EVF is twice as bright as its predecessor. A built-in flash, hot shoe, and Night Portrait mode are also included.
Connectivity and Power
Connectivity includes headphone, mic, HDMI, and USB-C ports. Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and SnapBridge enable remote shooting and wireless transfers. Powered by EN-EL25a or EN-EL25 battery with in-camera charging support.
Lens Features
The included NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens offers a 24-75mm equivalent range with Vibration Reduction, quiet stepping motor AF, and a programmable control ring. Optical design includes ED and aspherical elements for sharp, vibrant images.
