Overview
The Sennheiser e 604 Microphone is a rugged, cardioid instrument microphone specially designed to handle the high sound pressure levels of drums, percussion, woodwind, and brass instruments without distortion. It captures frequencies between 40 Hz and 18 kHz, withstanding SPLs above 160 dB. Based on the design of the acclaimed MD 421 microphone, the e 604 features a dynamic transducer that does not require phantom power. Its cardioid polar pattern minimizes off-axis pickup and feedback.
The microphone includes an integral stand mount and a clip that attaches directly to drum rims or instrument bells. A slight frequency boost between 4 and 5 kHz helps instruments cut through the mix. Its fiberglass-reinforced housing is impact-resistant and durable for stage or studio use.
