When you use a camera slider tripod-mounted, the GVM Aluminum Slider Support Rods allow you to secure it more firmly to the tripod for a sturdier setup. First, mount the slider on a tripod head the way you normally would, and then use this pair of support rods to secure each end of the slider directly to the tripod legs.
The rods use jaw clamps on the bottom to attach to the tripod legs. The clamps are rubber-padded to ensure twist- and scratch-free attachment. The top end of each rod screws into the bottom of your slider using included 1/4"-20 thumbscrews and compact mounting plates. (Your slider must have 1/4"-20 threads on the ends in order to support these rods.)
If you want a tilted setup, you can just use one rod on the side that you're tilting towards. The rods are also length-adjustable between 17.5 and 27.3" to tailor to different setups, whether straight or tilted. Between the length adjustment and the ability of the clamp mounts to be moved up and down the tripod legs, you can find the optimal setup for your slider and payload. No tools are required at all for either end of these support rods because everything is secured using T-handles, thumbscrews, and thumb nuts.
