Overview

The PORTKEYS BM5IV 5.5" HDMI/SDI Touchscreen Monitor provides accurate monitoring and focus control for on-location or studio shoots. This ultrabright 2000 cd/m² monitor features a wide color gamut, a durable aluminum build, and HDMI and 3G-SDI video inputs and outputs. It supports HDMI/SDI signal conversion and can output 3D LUTs via SDI. Wired control is available for select RED, Sony, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Panasonic, and Z CAM cameras, as well as Tilta Nucleus-M wireless lens motors.

Flexible Color Controls

The BM5IV uses three color gamuts for precise image calibration: 100% REC.709, 85% P3-DCI, and 85% P3-D65. You can manually select Log mode, toggle Log false color, and choose from 77 custom false colors across 15 segments. The monitor is factory calibrated and allows creation of a 3D calibration LUT with an X-Rite color probe for advanced color workflows.

CINEFORM OS

CINEFORM OS powers the monitor and allows configuration to suit your workflow. You can import two sets of custom color calibration files, create seven custom control pages, and save them to a micro-USB drive for import to another monitor, streamlining multi-monitor setups.

Dual-Screen Monitoring

View multiple camera signals simultaneously using HDMI and SDI inputs. Choose from horizontal or vertical crop, picture-in-picture, dual vertical, dual horizontal, or vertical/horizontal split configurations for maximum flexibility.

Connectivity

The BM5IV offers HDMI input/output, SDI input/output, USB-A for firmware updates and 3D LUT uploads, and a 3.5mm audio output for monitoring audio. HDMI ports support up to 4K60, while SDI ports support up to 1080p60 video.

Wired Camera & Motor Control

A micro-USB connection enables camera control for select cameras using separate cables. It also supports Tilta Nucleus N/M wireless focus systems via the UART port for calibration and limit settings.

Multiple Power Options

Power the monitor via the 4-pin interface and D-Tap cable or use the built-in NP-F battery plate for compatible batteries, giving flexible power solutions on set.

Robust Design

The BM5IV features a durable aluminum alloy chassis built to withstand production conditions. An integrated fan automatically switches to low-noise mode during recording to minimize audio interference.

LOG Stops

The monitor automatically identifies LOG signals and divides them into multiple exposure zones based on camera STOP data. Exposure is visualized via percentage histograms, zebra patterns, and false color, supporting up to 19 exposure levels. Each zone can be customized, enabled, or disabled individually for precise monitoring.

Auto-Adaptive LOG Stops (Sony Only)

When connected to a Sony camera, the monitor detects the LOG profile automatically and loads matched exposure data, improving efficiency and reducing manual setup.

Touch Focus

Tap the screen to set focus quickly and intuitively, allowing fast focus shifts between subjects. Supports select RED, Canon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras.

Touch Focus with Tracking Frame

Displays a focus frame and enables tracking focus mode for compatible cameras. The frame follows moving subjects for precise focus, reducing out-of-focus shots. Available on select Sony cameras.
