7Artisans 135mm f/1.8 Lens (Sony E)

Overview

The 7Artisans 135mm f/1.8 Lens (Sony E) is a full-frame telephoto prime built for photographers who want strikingly sharp images with beautifully soft, creamy backgrounds. Designed for the Sony E mount, it pairs a 135mm focal length with a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, making it a natural choice for portraiture, where isolating a subject from its surroundings and shooting comfortably in low light both matter. The combination of reach and speed also suits close-up and macro-style work, letting you capture fine detail with a dreamy, soft-focus rendering.

Inside, the lens uses 16 elements in 13 groups, including six extra-low dispersion (ED) and five high-refractive-index (HR) elements, to control distortion, ghosting and colour fringing even when shooting wide open. A 12-blade diaphragm rounds out the optical formula, producing smooth, circular bokeh that flatters portraits and detail shots alike.

Sharp, Distortion-Free Rendering

The optical design combines 16 elements in 13 groups, including six extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and five high-refractive-index (HR) elements, keeping distortion, ghosting and colour fringing under control across the frame. The included lens hood further blocks stray light to reduce flare in backlit conditions.

Smooth 12-Blade Bokeh

A 12-blade diaphragm working alongside the f/1.8 maximum aperture produces creamy, circular bokeh, helping subjects stand out from softly rendered backgrounds even in dim lighting.

68cm Minimum Focus Distance

A minimum focus distance of 68cm lets you move in close for detailed portrait and macro-style shots without losing the lens's signature soft-focus rendering.

AF/MF Switch with Manual Override

The all-metal body includes an AF/MF switch with full-time manual focus override, giving you instant control when precision framing matters. A customizable function button can be set to control a range of shooting settings.

USB-C Firmware Updates

An integrated USB-C port allows firmware updates, helping keep the lens's autofocus performance and camera compatibility up to date.
