7Artisans AF 40mm f/2.5 Lens (Sony E)

Overview

The 7Artisans AF 40mm f/2.5 Lens is a compact, full-frame prime lens built for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its 40mm focal length offers a natural, versatile field of view suited to street, landscape, and travel photography, and the f/2.5 to f/16 aperture range gives you a reasonably bright maximum opening for a pleasant, shallow depth of field, with room to stop down when a shot calls for more in focus.

An optical formula of one aspherical element and three high refraction elements is paired with a 9-blade diaphragm for sharp, clear images and smoothly rendered background blur, and a minimum focus distance of 40cm lets you move in close on smaller details. Autofocus operation and a weight of just 97g make it an easy lens to shoot with and carry all day.

Physical Rings and AF/MF Switching

A physical aperture ring and focus ring sit alongside an AF/MF switch and a customizable function button, giving you tactile control over your settings and fast access to your preferred function without digging through camera menus.

Firmware Updates via USB-C

An integrated USB-C port lets you update the lens's firmware directly from a computer, keeping performance current over time.
