Overview

The Aputure STORM 700x Tunable White LED Monolight is a high-output, tunable-white point-source LED designed for professional studio and film/TV production. Built upon Aputure's proprietary BLAIR LED chipset, the STORM 700x offers exceptional spectral quality and white light accuracy across its full 2500–10,000K range. With 700 W of power, multiple control methods, and an IP65-rated construction, it provides robust performance for demanding environments.

This versatile fixture combines compact design with advanced dimming, ProLock Bowens accessory mount, and weather-resistant durability—making it ideal for cinematographers and lighting professionals who need precision, power, and flexibility. The kit includes a 35° reflector, control box, clamp, head and power cables, and a soft rolling case for transport.

BLAIR Light Engine

The STORM 700x retains Aputure’s advanced BLAIR chipset, which utilizes blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red LED emitters to deliver superior brightness and color accuracy. Covering over 70% of the Rec. 2020 color gamut, the light achieves CRI 95 and TLCI 95 ratings, with SSI 87 at both 3200 K and 5600 K, and TM-30 results of Rf 95 and Rg 100. Its five-diode architecture ensures accurate color matching and a broader CCT range than typical bi-color fixtures.

Unmatched Flexibility

The fixture offers a full CCT range of 2500–10,000 K with ±G 100% green-magenta color correction for seamless integration in mixed-lighting environments. At 5600 K, the STORM 700x produces 18,670 lux at 3 m using the included 35° reflector. Multiple operation modes include Max, Constant Output, High-Speed, Lead-Follow, and Studio modes, enabling adaptability across shooting conditions.

Advanced Control

The included control box provides stepless dimming from 0.1 to 100% across four curves — linear, exponential, logarithmic, and S-curve. Control options include DMX, RDM, CRMX, and Bluetooth via the Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro apps. Twelve DMX profiles offer multiple dimming modes and signal-loss behaviors, ensuring the STORM 700x integrates smoothly with professional lighting setups.

Compact Robust Design

The IP65-rated housing ensures resistance to dust and water for outdoor and location work. The active fan cooling system features four modes — Smart, High, Medium, and Silent — for optimal thermal management. The ProLock Bowens mount guarantees secure, optically aligned attachment of modifiers, and the light runs on AC power (100–240 V) through its 6 m power cable.

Additional Details

Built-in lighting effects include Paparazzi, Fireworks, Flickering Bulb, Cannon, Lightning, TV, Pulse, Flash, Explosion, and Flame, with 10 customizable presets. The light has a native 58° beam angle (35° reflector included, 25° optional) and supports batch firmware updates via Sidus Link Pro or USB-A. The 50.3 × 27.4 × 27.2 cm lamp head weighs 5.15 kg, while the control box weighs 4.1 kg, making the system powerful yet portable.
