The Ninja RAW includes a comprehensive monitoring toolkit designed for precise on-set control, including:

ProRes RAW up to 6K

The recorder supports direct ProRes RAW capture up to 6K at 60/30 fps (camera dependent), preserving dynamic range and color information for advanced grading workflows. Both ProRes RAW and ProRes RAW HQ are preloaded and ready to use.

Broad Format Compatibility

In addition to RAW workflows, the Ninja RAW supports a wide range of production codecs, including ProRes 422 (HQ and LT), DNxHD 36/145/220x, DNxHR HQ/HQX/LB/SQ, and H.265 in multiple quality profiles. Supported resolutions include:

• DCI 4K and UHD 4K up to 60p.
• 1080p up to 120p for high frame rate capture.
• 1080i up to 60p and 720p up to 60p.

HDMI input supports 8/10/16-bit 4:2:2 signals, with additional professional features such as timecode support, HDMI trigger recording, pulldown conversion (2:2 and 3:2), and pre-roll recording of up to 8 seconds in HD and 2 seconds in 4K.

Connectivity & Workflow Integration

The Ninja RAW features one HDMI 2.0 input and one HDMI 2.0 output, both compatible with included locking cable adapters for secure production setups. A CFexpress Type B slot handles high-bitrate recording, LUT storage, and firmware updates.

Audio & Control Options

Audio connectivity includes a 3.5 mm input and 3.5 mm headphone output, with embedded audio supported via HDMI, IP, NDI, and USB. Up to 8 audio tracks can be recorded simultaneously.

Two USB-C ports manage power input (up to 16.8 VDC), recording, and firmware management, while a 2.5 mm LANC input enables external camera control. Optional USB-C network adapter support allows further workflow expansion.

Power, Mounting & Build

The unit operates within a 6.2 to 16.8 VDC range and consumes approximately 30 W of power. It supports a single L-Series battery mounted on a fixed rear plate, making it suitable for handheld, gimbal, or rig-based configurations.

Constructed from aluminum and durable plastic, the recorder measures 15.1 x 9.2 x 3.6 cm and weighs approximately 400 g. Mounting options include one ARRI anti-twist 1/4"-20 thread and two 3/8"-16 female threads. The unit is rated for operation in temperatures up to 40°C.
