Overview
The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G (with Power Supply) is a pocket sized converter for linking HDMI cameras or computers to professional SDI monitors and broadcast equipment. It takes a single HDMI input and outputs to two 3G/HD/SD-SDI ports, so the same signal can feed two SDI destinations at once or be extended over longer distances using SDI cable. Housed in a rugged metal shell, it automatically detects and matches the HDMI input to the SDI output and supports resolutions up to 1080p60.
Dual SDI Outputs with Selectable Levels
The converter provides two 3G-SDI outputs from a single HDMI input, with each output selectable between Level A and Level B formats, giving flexibility when feeding different SDI equipment from the same source.
SDI Re-Clocking & Timecode Support
- Built in re-clocking on the 3G-SDI output enables stable signal over longer cable runs.
- Compatible with SMPTE 259M/292M/296M/424M/425M Level A and B.
- HD and SD timecode support, converting HDMI timecode to SDI.
Wide Resolution & Embedded Audio Support
SDI and HDMI support extends from NTSC and PAL up to DCI 2Kp60 over SDI and 1080p60 over HDMI, covering a wide range of professional broadcast frame rates including cine style 48 fps. Embedded audio is carried across both the HDMI input and SDI output, so audio in the source signal is preserved through the conversion.
Compact, Rugged Metal Housing
A sturdy metal housing with rugged connector interfaces and LED indicators for video and power signals makes this converter well suited to daily use in the field or on set, while remaining small enough to tuck alongside a monitor or camera rig.
Versatile USB-C Power Options
- USB-C port allows powering from a monitor, laptop, or desktop computer.
- Includes a 100 to 240 VAC power supply with four international socket adapters.
- USB-C port also supports firmware updates from a Mac or PC.
