Overview

The Freewell Brandon Li VND/CPL Cine Kit (86mm) is a modular magnetic filter system designed for filmmakers and photographers who require fast exposure control, cinematic image customization, and streamlined operation when working with large-diameter cinema and photo lenses. Co-designed with filmmaker Brandon Li, the Cine Kit combines a locking 1 to 5-stop variable ND and circular polarizer with a stackable ND32 filter for expanded light reduction in demanding lighting conditions.

Built around a slim magnetic modular design, the system supports rapid filter changes while maintaining minimal color shift and wide-angle compatibility. The compact construction makes the kit well suited for handheld, travel, documentary, and run-and-gun production workflows.

Flexible Exposure Control

The included 1 to 5-stop VND/CPL filter provides smooth exposure adjustment while simultaneously reducing reflections and glare. When combined with the included ND32 filter, the system expands to a total range of 6 to 10 stops for shooting in bright outdoor environments while maintaining CPL functionality.

Magnetic Modular Workflow

The included magnetic base ring attaches directly to compatible 86mm lenses and forms the foundation of the filter system. Filters snap into place magnetically and lock securely with a twist, allowing fast transitions between setups without interrupting production flow.

Wide-Angle Friendly Construction

The slim filter profile helps minimize vignetting and unwanted artifacts commonly associated with variable ND filters on ultra-wide lenses. The included ND32 filter can also be used independently when additional light reduction is required.
