Overview

The Laowa Aksen 45mm and 17.5mm Ultra Macro APO Cine Lenses Bundle from Venus Optics pairs two cine styled ultra macro lenses on an interchangeable ARRI PL mount, covering a continuous 1 to 10x magnification range for full-frame cinema cameras. Both lenses share an apochromatic optical design for minimal color fringing at high magnification and a parfocal internal zoom that holds focus and lens length constant as you adjust magnification, so lighting and camera position do not need to change mid shot. The kit includes two tripod collars, four 15mm rods, and a hard case, ready to mount straight onto a cinema rig.

The 45mm f/2.8 lens handles the 1:1 to 5:1 range while the 17.5mm f/1.7 lens extends coverage to 5:1 to 10:1, together forming a complete extreme macro system for creative, commercial, and scientific close up work. Both lenses use 0.8 MOD gearing on iris and zoom for standard follow focus and matte box accessories.

Apochromatic Color Correction

Both lenses use apochromatic correction to keep chromatic aberration to a minimum even at their highest magnifications, producing ultrasharp images with little to no color fringing. Exposure compensation is required at high magnifications, as with any extreme macro lens.

Constant Length Parfocal Zoom

An internal parfocal zoom design keeps focus sharp and lens length constant as magnification changes, so there is no need to reset camera position, lighting, or a matte box between setups.

45mm f/2.8 1-5x Cine Lens

The 45mm lens covers 1:1 to 5:1 magnification with a fixed 4 cm working distance. Its standard focal length gives more depth of field at these magnifications than a telephoto design, and it includes cine style gearing, a tripod collar, and two 15mm rods for mounting accessories.

17.5mm f/1.7 5-10x Cine Lens

The 17.5mm lens extends coverage to 5:1 to 10:1 magnification with a fixed 2.2 cm working distance. Its wide angle design adds extra depth of field at these magnifications, and it includes cine style gearing, a rear 37mm filter thread, a tripod collar, and two 15mm rods for mounting accessories.
