Overview

The Venus Optics Laowa Aksen 45mm f/2.8 1-5x Ultra Macro APO Cine Lens (ARRI PL) brings a full-frame, cine-style macro lens to ARRI PL mount cameras, built for creative, commercial, and scientific macro capture. It offers 1 to 5x magnification with an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/11, and its parfocal design keeps focus sharp while the lens length stays constant as you adjust magnification, so there is no need to reposition the camera or lighting. The apochromatic (APO) optical design produces ultrasharp images with little to no color fringing, even at higher magnifications.

Built for on-set use, the lens pairs cine-style iris and zoom gearing with a rear 37mm filter thread and an interchangeable PL mount. It ships with a tripod collar and two 15mm rods for mounting focus motors, matte boxes, and other accessories, plus front and rear caps, making it easy to integrate into an existing cinema rig.

Constant-Length Parfocal Zoom

Focus stays fixed as you adjust magnification from 1 to 5x, so you simply reposition the subject rather than refocusing. The lens length remains constant throughout the zoom range, keeping your lighting and camera setup undisturbed. Note that exposure compensation is required as magnification increases.

Ultrasharp Images with APO Correction

Apochromatic correction keeps color fringing to a minimum even at the highest magnifications, preserving fine detail and texture. This full-frame lens can also be adapted to medium-format cameras, though vignetting will vary depending on the magnification used.

Cine-Style Gearing and Mount Accessories
