Ultra-Wide Cine Prime for Canon RF
The Venus Optics Laowa 9mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens is a Canon RF-mount ultra-wide prime built for cinema use, with markings in both feet and meters and coverage up to Super35 sensors. A 9mm focal length delivers a 113° angle of view on an APS-C sensor, well suited to outdoor and landscape work, aerial and underwater rigs, indie productions, and vlogging, and it's optimised for digital cinema cameras such as the RED KOMODO.
A T2.9 to T22 declicked aperture range with 0.8 MOD cine gearing supports smooth, repeatable exposure pulls during filming. The lens is lightweight and compact, making it practical for handheld shooting, gimbal work, and tripod-mounted setups alike.
Zero-Distortion Optical Design
Fifteen elements in ten groups, including the Zero-D design Laowa is known for, keep straight lines straight even at this ultra-wide focal length, useful for architecture and interior work where distortion would otherwise be distracting.
Close Focus for Detailed Shots
A minimum focus distance of 4.7" from the front of the lens allows for dramatic close-up framing, adding versatility for macro-adjacent shots without swapping lenses.
