The Nikon D70 Digital Camera Body is an early DX-format digital SLR built for photographers who are taking their first steps into DSLR shooting as well as experienced users. It pairs a 6.1MP CCD sensor with Nikon's Dynamic Buffer for fast handling and compatibility with the F-mount lens range.

6.1MP DX-Format CCD Sensor
The sensor produces 3,008 x 2,000-pixel images, with a wide dynamic range and sharp detail. An LSI processor handles colour, white balance and noise reduction, and saves compressed NEF (RAW) and JPEG files.
Dynamic Buffer & Quick Response
The camera is ready to shoot the instant it is turned on and offers three frames per second for bursts of up to 144 pictures (JPEG Normal on a fast CompactFlash card), with very short shutter lag.
Vari-Program Modes & i-TTL Flash
Seven Digital Vari-Program modes automatically set up the camera for common scenes, while P, S, A and M modes give full control. The built-in pop-up Speedlight supports i-TTL balanced fill-flash with sync up to 1/500 s, and can act as a Commander for wireless SB-600 and SB-800 flashes.
F-Mount Lenses
The F-mount accepts DX Nikkor lenses designed for Nikon's digital SLRs, and stays compatible with AF Nikkor lenses.
