Panasonic 4K Upgrade Kit for AK-HC3900 Camera System

Overview

The Panasonic AK-HUC01G is an optional 4K upgrade kit for the AK-HC3900 studio camera system, adding true 4K output without replacing the existing camera or control unit. The kit pairs a 4K output board, which installs into the AK-HCU250 camera control unit (CCU), with a 4K optical low pass filter that attaches to the lens mounting surface of the AK-HC3900 camera head. Together they turn the AK-HC3900 into a full 4K studio camera capable of an uncompromised 2000 TV line resolution.

Switchable 4K and 12G-SDI Output

Once installed, output is switchable between two 12G-SDI systems and 4K SDI with 3G-SDI Quad Link, and the system can output 4K/HDR/BT.2020 and HD/SDR/BT.709 simultaneously, giving studios the flexibility to feed both 4K and HD production chains from the same camera.

Optional Low Pass Filter

The 4K optical low pass filter is designed to maximise resolution and sharpness when shooting in 4K. It is optional, and the existing filter can be left in place instead to minimise the chance of moiré if that better suits a particular shoot.

Professional Installation Recommended

Panasonic service is recommended for fitting both the 4K output board and the optical low pass filter, ensuring the upgrade is installed and calibrated correctly on both the CCU and camera head.
