The RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR XL 8K S35 Sensor Camera (PL, V-Mount) paired with the V-RAPTOR Expander Blade delivers expanded connectivity and professional integration for demanding production environments. Designed for DSMC3 systems, the Expander Blade adds essential video, power, and communication ports, enabling seamless integration into multi-camera and broadcast workflows.

Mounting directly to the camera’s 9-pin EXT port and supported by the included ARCA plate, the Expander Blade enhances your V-RAPTOR XL configuration with Genlock, timecode, Run/Stop trigger, and RED CTRL connectivity. This makes it ideal for studio setups, virtual production stages, and large-scale productions requiring precise synchronization and remote control capabilities.

Professional Connectivity

The Expander Blade provides key interface options required in professional production workflows. The BNC connector supports Genlock video input, ensuring frame-accurate synchronization across multiple cameras. A dedicated 5-pin port enables external timecode input, while the 4-pin RED CTRL connector supports advanced remote camera operation.

The integrated 3-pin Fischer Run/Stop port functions as a trigger interface, allowing external devices to control recording start and stop. Please note that this port is trigger-only and does not supply power.

Compatibility:

The V-RAPTOR Expander Module is designed exclusively for DSMC3 camera systems. It is not compatible with DSMC, DSMC2, RED RANGER, or KOMODO camera systems.
