The RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR XL 8K S35 Sensor Camera (PL, V-Mount) is a fully integrated DSMC3 cinema system designed for high-end productions demanding robust connectivity, internal electronic ND filters, and industry-standard power distribution. Built around a 35.4MP Super35 CMOS sensor, it captures up to 8K120 with 16.5+ stops of dynamic range while supporting REDCODE RAW and ProRes workflows.
With its interchangeable ARRI PL mount, built-in Ambient Lockit timecode/genlock, triple 12G-SDI outputs, and integrated V-Mount battery plate, the V-RAPTOR XL is engineered for professional crews working in cinema, broadcast, wildlife, and multi-camera environments.

Super35 Sensor & 8K Performance
The 26.21 x 13.82 mm Super35 sensor delivers the classic cinematic look with high resolution and shallow depth of field while remaining practical for field production. With 16.5+ stops of dynamic range, the camera preserves highlight detail and shadow depth across challenging lighting conditions.
Capture up to 8K120 in 17:9 S35, 7K140, and 4K240, with additional high-speed options in lower resolutions. The 8K format allows reframing flexibility and multiple deliverables from a single master capture.
Integrated Electronic ND System
Built-in motorised electronic ND filters provide clear plus 2 to 7 stops of neutral density in precise 1/3, 1/4, and 1-stop increments. ND adjustments can be controlled directly from the camera body or remotely via the RED Control app, enabling fast exposure control without external matte boxes.
Professional Connectivity & Synchronisation
The V-RAPTOR XL is engineered for multi-camera and broadcast environments with three 12G-SDI outputs and a dedicated 3G-SDI monitor output. Integrated Ambient Lockit provides wireless timecode and genlock synchronisation, streamlining complex production workflows.
Additional connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C control/data/video, RS-232, multiple auxiliary power outputs, and a 5-pin LEMO mic/line input with +48 V phantom power.
Integrated Power & Advanced Cooling
The built-in V-Mount plate supports both standard 12 to 16V batteries and high-voltage 24 to 34V batteries, delivering flexible power solutions for demanding setups. Multiple D-Tap, LEMO, and Fischer outputs allow clean accessory integration.
An advanced cooling architecture utilises dedicated fans and a heat exchanger to regulate sensor and power components independently, reducing noise and maintaining consistent image performance.
DSMC3 XL Design
Constructed from aluminium, the compact yet robust body measures approximately 11.6 x 10.8 x 15.0 cm and weighs approximately 3.62 kg (body only). Multiple mounting points and integrated interfaces reduce the need for additional rigging, creating a streamlined cinema-ready platform.
Assistant Side Control Panel
A fixed 2.4" LCD provides comprehensive camera control, format selection, and status monitoring. This display is dedicated to control functions and does not provide live preview video.
