The VistaVision-format 35.4MP sensor captures 8192 x 4320 resolution with a true electronic global shutter, eliminating rolling shutter artifacts and enabling crisp capture of fast-moving subjects. RED IPP2 color science ensures cinematic tonal reproduction and flexible grading.

Phantom Track

Phantom Track streamlines virtual production and GhostFrame workflows by capturing separate R3D clips for subframe slices. This enables directors and talent to monitor one slice while VFX teams view another via SDI, ideal for green screen and live broadcast overlays.

Recording & High Frame Rates

The V-RAPTOR XL [X] records internally in REDCODE RAW across a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, including:

• 8K (8192 x 4320) up to 120 fps.
• Up to 240 fps in 5K and 4K formats (with sensor crop in select modes).
• Up to 600 fps at 2K (with sensor crop).

Multiple compression options (HQ, MQ, LQ) provide workflow flexibility depending on storage and performance needs.

Connectivity & Workflow

Comprehensive connectivity includes three 12G-SDI outputs, one 3G-SDI output, genlock, timecode, USB-C, Ethernet control, and Wi-Fi. Four SDI outputs support onboard monitors and DIT workflows simultaneously.

Built on the DSMC3 platform, the camera supports advanced integrations such as RED Connect for live 8K R3D over IP, Frame.io workflows, AWS direct upload, and SMPTE ST 2110 streaming.

Power & System Integration

An integrated V-mount battery plate supports both standard 12V and high-voltage 26V batteries. Multiple 12V and 24V auxiliary outputs—including D-Tap, LEMO, and Fischer connectors—power accessories directly from the camera body.

The newly engineered audio architecture features improved preamps and professional mic/line inputs with +48V phantom power for cleaner single-system recording.
