The Manfrotto Befree GT Travel Aluminum Tripod with 496 Ball Head (Black) is a lightweight, professional-grade travel tripod built from sturdy aluminum alloy and paired with Manfrotto's versatile 496 ball head. Designed for photographers and videographers who need a reliable travel companion for DSLR or mirrorless cameras fitted with telephoto lenses, it supports up to 12 kg while weighing only 1.9 kg, and packs down to just 43 cm for easy transport in its included padded bag.

Compact Yet Capable Aluminum Build

Reaching a maximum height of 164 cm with the centre column extended (140 cm with it retracted), the tripod folds to a compact 43 cm for travel while still supporting up to 12 kg of camera gear. Four-section legs with M-Lock twist locks fasten securely with a simple 90° turn, and lock down at any of three leg angles for shooting low to the ground or on uneven terrain.

496 Ball Head with Pan & Friction Control

The included 496 ball head gives smooth, precise positioning with a dedicated panoramic movement knob and a separate friction control knob for fine-tuning tension, plus a removable, faceted centre column for extra framing flexibility. Vertical tilt runs from +90° to 0° for a wide range of compositions.

RC2 and Arca-Type Quick Release

A dual-compatible quick release plate (RC2 and Arca-type) means the head works with Manfrotto's own accessories as well as most Arca-Swiss camera plates already in your kit, with the exception of the Manfrotto 804-3W and MH804-3W tripod heads. The Easy Link attachment point lets you add optional accessories like flashes or reflectors without needing a separate mount, helping cut down on the amount of gear you need to carry while travelling.

Rubberized Feet and Universal Mounting

Rubberized feet help prevent skidding and keep the tripod stable across most types of terrain. An included bushing adapter lets you switch between 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mounts, so the tripod works with a wide range of cameras, optics, and other equipment beyond its own head.
