Freewell FW-SH-BLUANM Overview
Designed for the iPhone 13 and 14, the Anamorphic Lens from Freewell creates a blue cinematic flare with a 2.76:1 aspect ratio. Included are UV, ND8, ND16, ND32, and ND64 filters, all of which may be mounted directly to the lens' filter thread. The UV filter will block or absorb UV light and color casts, while the ND (neutral density) filters will create unique effects by reducing the amount of light entering the lens. To compensate for the light loss, users will either have to use a longer shutter speed which can create movement in the shot, open the aperture for shallower depth of field, or execute a combination of both.
Anamorphic lenses horizontally squeeze, or vertically stretch, a wider image onto your phone's sensor. As this lens performs a squeeze of 1.55x, the resulting aspect ratio is 2.76:1, as compared to the spherical, or non-anamorphic ratio of 1.78:1 (16:9). Thanks to the blue coating, you'll get unique cinematic flares.
Please note that this lens is compatible with your iPhone 13 or 14's 1x wide and 3x telephoto lenses. Also required is a Freewell Sherpa Series iPhone case, which is sold separately. Lastly, third party software, such as Filmic Pro, is required to de-squeeze any anamorphic footage.
