JJC FDA-S1 Film Digitising Adapter and LED Light Set for Macro Lenses

Overview

The JJC FDA-S1 Film Digitising Adapter and LED Light Set for Macro Lenses is made for copying negatives and turning 35mm film into digital files with a macro lens. The set has a barrel, adapters for different lens threads, a slide mount holder, a strip film holder and an LED light. The adapters fit the set to selected Canon, Nikon, Sony, Laowa and Olympus macro lenses, and a view angle adjustment ring on the barrel adjusts the angle of view and tilt.

The dedicated film holders for strips and for mounted slides (slide mounts are not included) hold the film taut and make it easier to handle. The set suits the Nikon D850 particularly well, because that camera has a dedicated Negative Digitizer mode that reverses colours in camera to speed up digitising.

The LED light has 42 ultra-bright LEDs behind a diffusing screen for soft, even light, with a colour rendering index of 95+ and a 6500K colour temperature. Its cable is about 1.5 m long and it needs a 5 V 2A USB power adapter (not included). A controller on the cable turns the light on and off and sets one of 10 brightness levels. Slide the film holder into the slot on the LED, then use the stand on the back on a flat surface or the 1/4"-20 female thread on the base to mount it on a tripod. Turn the lens's image stabiliser off when copying, and do not leave film in front of the lit LED for a long time.
