Overview
The Shure Beta 58A is a handheld supercardioid dynamic microphone designed for vocals, speech and instruments across concerts, houses of worship and other live stage applications. Its dynamic capsule uses a neodymium magnet for a strong signal-to-noise ratio and is shock-mounted to reduce handling noise, and it requires no external power to operate. The durable metal body ships with a mic clip, threaded stand adapter and a storage bag.
Supercardioid Rejection
A uniform supercardioid polar pattern is maintained across the microphone's frequency range, delivering tight directionality, high gain before feedback and strong rejection of off-axis sound arriving from around 120 degrees to the rear of the mic.
Enhanced Midrange with Smooth Roll-Off
The Beta 58A offers a frequency response of 50 Hz to 16 kHz with a gentle boost above 3 kHz for enhanced midrange presence, paired with a smooth bass roll-off that helps control proximity effect on vocals and instruments.
Pneumatic Shock Mount System
An advanced pneumatic shock-mounted system minimises the transmission of handling noise and stand-transferred vibration, while a hardened steel mesh grille resists wear and abuse from daily use.
