The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary Lens for Sony E is a full-frame telephoto zoom that offers impressive reach in a relatively compact, hand-holdable design. It suits wildlife, sports and distant subjects, with optical stabilisation to help keep long handheld shots sharp.

We cover the zoom range, the glass, stabilisation and focusing, and the build and tripod collar.

100-400mm Hand-Holdable Reach

Long reach in a design you can carry and shoot handheld, with a minimum focus distance of 1.1m and a 0.24x maximum magnification for close subjects.

FLD & SLD Glass

One FLD and four SLD elements deliver high clarity and colour accuracy through the zoom range and suppress chromatic aberration and colour fringing.

OS Stabilisation & Stepping Motor AF

Optical stabilisation reduces camera shake at long focal lengths, and a stepping motor focuses quickly and quietly. An AFL button and zoom limiter switch give extra control.

Dust & Splash-Resistant Build

The dust- and splash-resistant construction suits outdoor work, and the removable, rotating tripod collar helps balance the lens on a tripod or monopod.
