Overview

The SmallRig Black Mamba Cage Kit for Canon EOS R6 Mark II is a lightweight handheld rigging solution for photographers, videographers, and content creators working with expanded camera setups. The kit includes a formfitting cage, an ergonomic top handle, and an HDMI/USB-C cable clamp, giving added protection, improved handling, and multiple accessory-mounting options for handheld, tripod, and gimbal-based production. Built from aluminum alloy and weighing around 308 g, it keeps the camera setup manageable for travel, event coverage, and extended handheld sessions.

Secure Camera Mounting

The cage attaches to the Canon EOS R6 Mark II using a bottom 1/4"-20 screw and dual side locating blocks that help prevent twisting during operation, which is useful when working with mounted monitors, microphones, handles, or follow-focus systems where stability matters.

Built-In Arca-Type Quick Release

An integrated Arca-type compatible base allows the cage to mount directly onto Arca-type tripod heads and compatible DJI gimbals, supporting fast transitions between handheld shooting, stabilized gimbal work, and tripod-based setups without removing the cage.

HDMI & USB-C Cable Clamp

The included cable clamp attaches with a thumbscrew for quick installation and helps secure connected cables during recording, monitoring, or data-transfer workflows, reducing strain on the camera's ports during handheld or mobile production.

Compatibility:

• The cage fits both the Canon EOS R6 Mark II and Canon EOS R6 Mark III, but the included cable clamp only fits the Canon EOS R6 Mark II.
• Canon EOS R6 Mark III users who need a cable clamp should look at the SmallRig Cage Kit 5960.
• Not compatible with the original quick release plate for the DJI RS 4 Mini.
• Side locating blocks should be removed from both sides of the cage before mounting the camera.
