Overview

The SmallRig Cage for Select Sony Alpha Cameras with VG-C4EM Vertical Grip provides camera protection, improved handling, and expanded accessory mounting for photo and video production. Designed for supported Sony Alpha bodies when paired with the VG-C4EM grip, the cage maintains access to camera controls, media slots, the battery compartment, and ports while adding mounting points for monitors, handles, microphones, lights, and follow-focus systems. It is built from aluminum alloy, silicone, and stainless steel.

Secure Three-Point Mounting

The cage mounts to the camera using a bottom 1/4"-20 screw and dual side locks. Built-in silicone pads reduce the risk of scratches while improving contact between the cage and camera body, which is useful when working with heavier lenses, external monitors, side handles, or shoulder-mounted configurations where rigidity matters.

Flexible Accessory Mounting

• Multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 3/8"-16 threaded holes, and ARRI locating holes.
• Supports compatible top handles, side handles, monitor mounts, and magic arms.
• Configures for handheld work, tripod operation, interview setups, or compact cinema-style builds.

Dual Cold Shoe Mounts

Two integrated cold shoe mounts provide convenient attachment points for accessories such as a microphone or compact LED video light, keeping frequently used gear close to the camera body without extra adapters.

Arca-Swiss Quick Release Base

A built-in Arca-Swiss quick release plate on the bottom of the cage supports direct mounting on Arca-type tripods and compatible DJI gimbals, supporting faster transitions between handheld, tripod, and stabilized shooting.

15mm Rod Clamp & Onboard Wrench

A built-in front 1/4"-20 locating hole supports use with a compatible single rod clamp, enabling attachment of a 15mm single rod for follow-focus systems and other lens-control or rigging accessories. A magnetic double-ended wrench stores at the base of the cage for installation and removal, simplifying on-location adjustments without a separate tool kit.

Strap & Carrying Options

A strap slot accommodates a compatible wrist strap, and a QD socket allows use of a quick-release shoulder strap, both practical for location work, event coverage, and handheld shooting where secure carrying matters.
