Overview

The SmallRig 5874 Cooling Fan for Nikon ZR is designed to help prevent overheating when shooting high-resolution, high-frame-rate video. Ideal for extended recording sessions, this compact cooling system snaps directly onto the rear LCD slot of the Nikon ZR, delivering active heat dissipation to maintain stable performance.

Powered via USB-C using the included cable, the fan can draw power from compatible SmallRig battery plates or external power sources. Its integrated TEC (Thermoelectric Cooling) system and high-speed fan work together to reduce heat buildup and extend usable shooting time in demanding environments.

Note: When installed, the camera's LCD screen cannot be retracted. The preinstalled mounting bracket can be removed to allow use with select Sony mirrorless cameras.

Cooling Performance

The integrated heat sink and 7000 rpm fan work alongside advanced TEC cooling technology to reduce internal camera temperatures during intensive video recording. This helps delay overheating shutdown when shooting in warm environments or at high bitrates.

In extreme temperatures, the system can temporarily extend recording time, though camera shutdown may still be required depending on operating conditions.

Intelligent Temperature Control

The advanced TEC temperature control system intelligently regulates cooling performance to help maintain consistent operation. Built-in protection circuitry safeguards both the camera and the cooling unit during extended use.

Installation & Compatibility

The tool-free snap-on frame allows quick installation and removal. The mounting frame inserts into the camera’s rear LCD slot for a secure fit. While installed, the LCD screen cannot be folded back into its closed position.

Native compatibility with the Nikon ZR Camera. Compatible with the following Sony cameras when the mounting bracket is removed: Sony ZV-E1, Sony ZV-E10 II, Sony ZV-E10, Sony ZV-1, Sony ZV-1F, Sony a7 IV, Sony a7S III, Sony a7C, Sony a7C II, Sony a7CR, Sony a6700, Sony FX3, Sony FX30.

Power Options

The USB-C power input supports various SmallRig V-Mount Battery Mount Plate kits (4064B, 4063B, 5315, 5227) and compatible batteries such as 3579, 4608, and 4292. This flexible power design makes it suitable for studio setups, handheld rigs, and outdoor shooting environments.
