33MP Partially-Stacked Exmor RS Sensor

The partially stacked 33MP full-frame sensor offers faster readout, reduced rolling shutter, improved image quality, and up to 16 stops of dynamic range. It supports native ISO 100–51,200 for stills and video with extended options up to ISO 204,800 for photos and ISO 102,400 for video.

BIONZ XR2 Processor with AI Unit

The updated processor integrates a dedicated AI unit for superior color accuracy, more stable auto white balance, enhanced subject detection, and increased operational speed, enabling 30 fps continuous shooting and oversampled 7K-to-4K recording.

Pre-Capture & Speed Boost

Pre-Capture records 0.03–1.0 second of buffered frames before shutter release, while Speed Boost instantly switches to higher burst rates up to 30 fps.

Selectable Raw File Types

Supports Compressed HQ, Lossless Compressed, and Lightweight Raw formats, with additional Composite RAW for merging 4, 8, or 16 sequential shots for low-noise HDR output.

Image Stabilization

5-Axis Stabilization

The revised IBIS system delivers up to 7.5 stops of shake reduction at the center of the frame and 6.5 stops at the periphery, combining a high-performance gyro sensor and an optimized stabilization algorithm.

Thermal Management & Stabilization

A Sigma-shaped graphite heatsink enhances thermal performance, enabling long recording times. Dynamic Active IS provides strong electronic stabilization for handheld shooting.

S-Cinetone offers cinematic color and skin tones, while S-Log3 provides more than 15 stops of dynamic range. LUTs can be imported via Creators’ Cloud for accurate monitoring.
