Fast and Portable Wide-Angle Prime

Combining a favoured wide-angle focal length with an especially bright design, the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM is a fast, versatile full-frame E-mount lens well suited to landscape, astrophotography, and street photography. Its wide-but-usable 84-degree perspective is complemented by the f/1.4 maximum aperture, and the lens is distinguished by a sleek, portable profile that makes it easy to carry and shoot with all day. A minimum focus distance of 24cm and 0.17x magnification also allow for closer working distances than many wide primes.

G Master Optical Performance

As part of Sony's esteemed G Master series, this lens achieves notably high resolution and sharpness through correction of a wide variety of spherical and chromatic aberrations. The fast f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits difficult lighting conditions and affords increased control over depth of field, while a rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh. Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements offer superior surface precision for effective control over astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other spherical aberrations, and three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing. A Nano AR coating reduces surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for clean, contrast-rich images.

Responsive Autofocus and Intuitive Handling

• Direct Drive Super Sonic wave Motor (SSM) AF system and internal focus mechanism provide quick, quiet, precise autofocus and natural manual focus control.
• Focus hold button on the lens barrel for intuitive control during shooting.
• Physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth, silent aperture adjustments while filming video.
• Dust- and moisture-resistant construction with rubberised control rings suited to colder temperatures.
• Fluorine-coated front element resists dust, moisture, and fingerprints for easy cleaning.
