TTArtisan AF 85mm f/1.8 Neo Lens (Sony E)

Overview

The TTArtisan AF 85mm f/1.8 Neo Lens (Sony E) is a telephoto prime lens built for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, pairing a classic 85mm focal length with a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture that suits portraiture particularly well. The wide aperture creates strong background separation for isolating subjects against soft, blurred backdrops, while the lens still stops down to f/16 for greater depth of field when needed. Its optical formula of 12 elements in 8 groups includes two extra-low-dispersion and two high-index elements, aimed at controlling aberrations and delivering sharp, detailed results even wide open.

A 9-blade aperture diaphragm renders smooth, natural bokeh in out-of-focus areas, complementing the lens's portrait credentials, while an STM stepping motor provides fast, quiet autofocus for both stills and video work. The housing uses a reinforced fiberglass construction that keeps weight down to 332 g without compromising durability, and a 62mm front filter thread allows the easy addition of protective or creative filters. Separately available lens shells let photographers personalise the look and feel of the lens to suit their own style.
