Overview

The Viltrox DC-L1 7" HDMI On-Camera Touchscreen Monitor gives you a bigger, clearer view of your shot than the screen on the back of your camera. Its 7" 1280 x 800 IPS touchscreen makes checking focus, exposure and framing quick, and at 367 g it sits on a small rig without weighing it down. It suits solo shooters and small crews who want a simple first monitor.

The DC-L1 takes DCI and UHD 4K at up to 30 fps over HDMI and passes the signal on through its HDMI output. Waveform, false colour, zebra and anamorphic de-squeeze are built in, and you can load up to 20 of your own 3D LUTs. It runs on NP-F batteries or USB-C power, flips the picture automatically when mounted upside down, and attaches by 1/4"-20 threads on two sides.

Monitoring Tools

Everything you need to judge a shot is on the screen, with no extra software:

• Waveform, RGB parade and vectorscope
• Histogram, false colour and zebra
• Screen markers and custom aspect ratios
• Anamorphic de-squeeze, image flip and rotate

Connections

The HDMI input accepts DCI and UHD 4K at 24, 25 or 30 fps, plus everything from 1080p down to 480i, and the loop output carries the same 4K30 signal. The HDMI output sends the same picture on to a second monitor or a recorder, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack lets you listen to the audio carried over HDMI. The USB port loads up to 20 custom 3D LUTs and handles firmware updates.

NP-F or USB-C Power

Slide an NP-F550, NP-F750 or NP-F970 battery onto the rear plate for cable-free shooting. For longer days, run it from USB-C or a DC barrel supply instead. A battery, sun hood, shoe mount adapter and HDMI and USB cables come in the box, so the monitor is ready to use as soon as you unpack it.

Mounting & Auto Flip

There are 1/4"-20 threads on the bottom and right side, for a cage, a magic arm or the included shoe mount adapter. A built-in gyroscope senses when the monitor is mounted upside down and flips the image so it always reads the right way up.
