Overview
The Viltrox Spark Z3 TTL On-Camera Flash for Nikon (Green) is a compact shoe-mounted flash for close-range and fill light, made for beginners, hobbyists and travel photographers who want an easy way to add light. Its angular "Cyber Mech" styling packs a lot into 144 g: automatic TTL and manual modes, one-second recycling, optical slave modes and a big built-in battery that charges over USB-C.
Use it on the camera, or off it as an optical slave: S1 mode fires with any burst of light, and S2 mode ignores a pre-flash and fires with the main burst of another flash. The slave modes work in manual mode.
Auto TTL & Manual Modes
Leave it in TTL for point-and-shoot simplicity: the flash and camera set the output together. Switch to manual for seven power levels from full down to 1/64 and repeatable results. The 26 W output recycles in about a second at full power, and a 16 m guide number at ISO 100 covers everyday distances.
Built-In USB-C Battery
The built-in 1800 mAh battery gives up to 650 full-power flashes on a charge and recharges in about 70 minutes over USB-C, so there are no AA batteries to buy, carry or swap mid-shoot. A snap-on diffuser comes in the box to spread the light for softer, more flattering results on close subjects.
