Viltrox Vintage Z1 PRO-S TTL On-Camera Flash for Sony

Overview

The Viltrox Vintage Z1 PRO-S TTL On-Camera Flash for Sony brings retro style and modern control to your Sony camera. A matte silver metal body with grain leather details looks the part on a classic-styled camera, while inside it is Viltrox's first flash with 1/8000 high-speed sync. It suits beginners and experienced shooters alike.

A round touchscreen and a mechanical dial make it simple to run in TTL, manual or slave mode. The 24Ws output and 12 m guide number cover a 28mm wide-angle view, and a one-second recycle time keeps up with portraits, street, events and everyday moments, so you are rarely waiting on the flash. A built-in USB-C battery means no AA batteries to carry.

Round Touchscreen Control

Tap the round touchscreen to switch between auto TTL and manual, and swipe to make quick changes to your settings. For a more hands-on feel, the mechanical dial on the back adjusts the same settings by touch, so you can work without looking away from the scene. Four modes cover on-camera and off-camera flash:

• TTL (A): works with Sony ADI and P-TTL, so the flash and camera set the output for you
• Manual: choose the output yourself, from 1/64 up to full power
• S1 slave: fires the moment it sees another flash go off
• S2 slave: ignores a pre-flash and fires on the main burst, for flashes that send a TTL pre-flash

1/8000 High-Speed Sync

High-speed sync up to 1/8000 sec lets you use flash with wide apertures in bright light, so you can keep a shallow depth of field outdoors and still light your subject. Second-curtain sync is also on board, firing the flash at the end of the exposure so any motion blur trails behind a moving subject.

Built-In USB-C Battery

The built-in 800 mAh battery charges over USB-C and gives about 350 full-power flashes, or up to 10,000 at the lowest setting, so there are no AA batteries to buy, carry or swap mid-shoot. At just 136 g with no spare batteries to pack, it is a flash you can leave on the camera all day. A white diffuser comes in the box to soften the light.
