Overview
The Tilta EVF Extension Kit for Sony FX5 moves the camera's electronic viewfinder away from the body so you can place it wherever suits your shooting style, whether you are shoulder-mounted, handheld or on a tripod. The kit pairs a 30 cm EVF extension cable with an adjustable bracket that has a NATO mount.
It is made to pair with the Tilta Camera Cage for FX5, where the bracket slides straight onto the left side NATO rail for quick fitting and removal, and it also works on other NATO rails.
EVF Extension Cable
The extension cable keeps the EVF signal connected reliably while giving you a flexible 30 cm extension, and two 1/4"-20 Threads on the camera secure the connection to prevent signal loss during use. At the camera end, an integrated NATO rail carries a 3/8"-16 Thread with locating points and a 1/4"-20 adapter, which gives you a base for top handles, microphones, transmitters and more. The EVF end adds extra 1/4"-20 Threads with locating points and a 15mm rod holder for articulating arms and other accessories. Pair it with the Pro Articulating Arm to push the EVF out sideways on a shoulder rig, or use any 15mm rod holder attachment to hold the EVF on rods.
Adjustable Bracket
The bracket clamps onto a NATO rail, so it can be fitted to or removed from the side of a Tilta Camera Cage for FX5 or any other NATO rail in seconds. A telescoping vertical rod gives 123 mm of travel, and a 15mm horizontal rod gives 105 mm from left to right, so the EVF can be set in many positions. The vertical rod also carries a 3/8"-16 Thread with locating points and a built-in 1/4"-20 adapter for side handles such as the Advanced Wooden Side Handles and other accessories. The bracket is built from aluminium alloy, ABS plastic and carbon fibre.
